Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sun's Serpent's favorite hobby is to make crazy loops across the sky. He likes to fly through darkened clouds and then into beams of sunlight, making his purple-gold scales shimmer majestically. He is best friends with Cloudrune and Rune of the Sky. He likes to swoop down and gore small dragons with his horns, shishkabobbing them and then taking them to Cloudrune's cloud to eat with her. Sun's Serpent and Skyrune sleep on Cloudrune's cloud every night, but occasionally Sun Serpent sneaks away to admire his beautiful darkened purple scales in a moonlit pond. His favorite food is a plain meal or dead dragon, as long as there is blood. He likes to paint red streaks on his sides, face and wings with the blood.
