Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Diamondigo CaneStripe (after the gemstone: Diamond) joined the clan cave as its 40th dragon, coming from a long line of Christmas spirit. The Clan Mother was required to search far and wide, as his mental emanations came to her beseechingly in her night dreams. By the time he was discovered, the rest of the clan cave was well on their way toward celebrating the joys of the season, but The Clan Mother did not mind for the reward of his presence within the clan was well worth it. Diamondigo is a bit of a jokester, and is well known for painting red and white stripes all over the inner walls of the clan cave. Opaliestrus, with her gleaming white scales, tends to steer clear of him as much as possible, since she seems to be his favorite canvas, much to the distress of the clan elders. Somehow, though, he always manages to escape punishment, his charm and warm Christmas spirit washing frustration and anger away like a raging brook at winters end.
