Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Her heat announces her presence well before you see her, a great ruby-colored dragoness of proud bearing. The very air around her shimmers with the heat emanating from her scales, like a freshly-opened oven or the desert horizon in midday. But for all that she is dangerous—from the points of her wickedly sharp teeth to the last spine of her tail—she barely seems to notice your approach, far too proud to even deign to acknowledge your existence. To amuse herself, she will occasionally belch gouts of flame at a bare cavern wall, and trace patterns in the soot left behind. Haughty, arrogant, she does not much mingle with the others... and yet will occasionally pick an egg away from the clutch to care for it. Her reasons are unknown.
