It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the first born daughter of the Elders, Aeshild was adored by the clan members, which resulted in her snobby character. The sun never seemed to set for the young princess until the fateful day when she decided to steal the Breeder's scroll for fun. Stealing then sabotaging the sacred document almost resulted in her permanent banishment from the clan, but her punishment was reduced thanks to her mother, Bellodia's efforts. She was to go off and live in the Wilderness until she reached adulthood-and while it only took another year for her to grow up, the sudden shift in environment imprinted its mark forever. By the time she served her discipline, she grew up to become a dragon who was not pompous or arrogant anymore, but was rather shy and self-conscious.
