Hunter dragons are forest dwelling creatures known for having a high success rate of taking down prey. While most commonly seen scouting alone or patrolling in small territorial groups, they live in hierarchical packs of twenty or more individuals. Their most notable attribute is their ability to change the color of their scales to mimic their surroundings. This skill allows them to disappear into their environment, ambushing prey and trespassers alike. Some stories describe a Hunter dragon mimicking a Purple Dragon. They usually become quite the matchmaker, working to improve the romantic relationships and mend strained ones within their community.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior.
