Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blot is less active than most black dragons, preferring a calm, tranquil life among the many scrolls and books in her library. Though she enjoys her silent, solitary lifestyle, she is always happy to let a weary traveler stay and rest in her home for the night. She entertains her guests with games like charades, trivial quizzes, and chess. She also loves to engage in a bit of light banter over a cup of tea and some biscuits. Every month, a caravan loaded with scrolls and poetry passes very near her living quarters. Blot manages to flag it down each time, sometimes running at full speed to pursue the wagon. She sometimes ends up buying the entire stock of literary material before the caravan even gets to town. Her favorite treasures are phoenix feather quills and rowan berry ink.
