Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tailing the Whipper Snapper is very mischievous.  He especially likes to pick on his trainer's younger brother who had thrown a rock at one of the other dragons... Tail of the Whipping Boy, whom he adores.  He has taken to sneaking up behind the boy and nip him in the tuckus before turning tail and running.  The boy will usually attempt to pursue him and wind up tripping over the dragon's tail.

These antics entertain the hatchlings in the nest who all watch from the beginning as the young whiptail tails the boy.  It has actually become a game between the dragon and the child.
