Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Countess Resourette's sire was 'sworn'; not originally of Montague lineage at all, but adopted in and bound by oaths of loyalty. In fact, he originally came of the Capulets, the Montagues' ancient enemies. As an egg he was cast out by that clan and left to die, though to this day no one can say why... perhaps it was deemed weak. The egg was found and brought up as a Montague. Hatched among the Montagues, Reso has never known anything else but the cunning and the craftiness of the Montague way, and she considers herself as much a Montague as any that came of Montague blood. It IS true that she has shown no sign of desiring to return to her Capulet roots, but this does not save her from her elders' suspicion and she was sent to live among the clan of the JavaTiger where Montagues of good standing can keep an eye on her. She invariably works hard in order to try to impress them... with the result that she generally more 'Montague-like' than many with more real Montague blood than she has.
