This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Mini-Marishka is a charming girl. She quietly sneaks her meals off with promises of magic shows and other childish games. She doesn't particularly enjoy being an adult minded dragon stuck in a hatchlings body, but it is easier to lure the adults away with her cries. She used her shape to her full advantage in both hunting and moving about. If a dragon manages to befriend her they'll find her truly elegant and soft-spoken, in the way of the old vampires.
