Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

PygmyChild is a young Pygmy Dragon hatchling. He loves to play with the other hatchlings of his cave, and spends more time with them than he does with his parents. He, with the help of the Dragon Inventor DreamsTwoKnight, created a tough leather ball. PygmyChild invented a game to play with it called Tail Ball. Each hatchling dribbles the ball with their tail and tries to get it in the other teams goal, but only the goalie is allowed to touch the ball with their front two legs.
