Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

The taste of fruit is something Dra thinks about when there is nothing to distract it. It also thinks about having a mate, having hatchlings, and going beyond the humid prison that keeps it from drying out. When it finds itself thinking like that for too long, it finds work in the clan to keep it busy. Dra knows that no matter how much it wishes it were real, this is as "real" as it will ever get, and even though it knows it can't change that, it still can't help but wish it could.
