Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

As a Green dragon, Kai was naturally chosen to help create a refuge in the centre of the flock's territory. The Guardian of Nature and the Avatars were insistent that one was necessary, that they needed a shelter large enough to hold all of the flock's dragons, as well as the humans under their protection, some of their livestock, and some food stores.

For months the Green and Stone dragons worked on digging several connected caverns out from under several tall mountains, with the sporadic assistance of the more magically-powerful breeds.

Kai, perched on a high ledge in the main cavern, was pleased with the work. Ledges along the walls led into sleeping caves, while pools and rivers provided a place for the aquatic breeds. The larger entrances could be blocked with rocks in seconds, and the smaller ones were accessed by sharply-cornered tunnels.

Kai sincerely hoped that whatever the Guardian and Avatars had seen in the flock's future to require such a fortress would not come to pass.
