Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Snuggles was given a much more "cute" name than his dragon cousins because he is seen as more of a pet than a friend. Since he is a drake, he can't participate in any stimulating conversations, and is usually made fun of. Think of the way a pessimist may call their animal companion, a domesticated dog, for example, names like "stupid" and "silly" in a soft voice because the pessimist believes they don't understand. That is how the dragons do. Snuggles usually makes a squeaky sound and then rubs himself on the dragons leg. And then all the dragons laugh. Additionally, the hatchlings absolutely love him! They'll play fight with him and shout, and you can bet Snuggles loves the attention times five! When there are just eggs, he sits with the guard dragons and rubs himself on the eggs, as if he knows what's inside.
