Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Cheese is no is a very bad-smelling specimen of Cheese dragon. Originally it was made out of spoiled goat cheese and therefore does not smell very nice. This led to few owners deciding to keep it, as it made other dragons stay away from the horrid stench of bad cheese and thus making it harder for dragon collectors to approach dragon caves without alerting the dragons inside. The current owner puts up with Cheese is no due to a loss of sense of smell.
