Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dubhda's name means "Black" in Gaelic.  He's a wild-born dragon, and little of his past is known, as his travels were vast as a young adult.  Although he produced a single black son from a tryst with Roane, a Water dragon, being tied down to her watery restrictions proved to be more than he could handle.

During his travels, a glint from a mountain peak drew him in, and on the mountainside, he met Realt, the loveliest dragon he had ever seen.  The peace he feels in Realt's company and the freedom to answer the call of the open sky as he hunts to provide for his family make the nest that they have built together on the high mountain peak the happiest place he could imagine.
