Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling is very dangerous, harmful, and even deadly. As an egg, Wicked Inside's shell was tinted a faint shade of blood-red, as if a dragon had been killed and its blood spilled onto the eggshell. When Wicked Inside hatched, it was very sullen, staring at other dragons with its ruby red eyes. Many dragons became very unnerved when they were around him, as if his eyes could see into their souls. However, even though a malevolent aura followed Wicked Inside around, the hatchling never went any further than staring at the others.

But as the hatchling matured, strange things began to happen. Dragons were attacked at night by what seemed to be a small demon. Even stranger, Wicked Inside often disappeared during the night, acting strange during the day. When white dragons tried to examine him, Wicked Inside suddenly attacked, sinking his fangs into one of their throats. He's been isolated ever since, locked in a cave and kept away from the other hatchlings and adults.
