Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. When it basks in moonlight, it is surrounded by a faintly glowing aura.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling likes to moonbathe near a waterfall that is home to a swarm of fairies. When he first arrived there, both he and the fairies were shy but curious, so it was over time that they grew comfortable enough to become good friends.

When he first shed his skin and gained the iridescent coloring on his wings, the fairies were so fascinated by his new colors that they swarmed over him enough to make him cry out in momentary panic. An observer caught sight of him because of the noise and gave him the name by which he is now known.

Once everyone calmed down a bit, Feyrimoonlite settled into having the fairies fly in and out between his illusory wings. He likes 'helping' them along with sudden snorts; the fairies love this, as they go tumbling through the air and perform aerial gymnastics around his wings. It is truly an astonishing sight to see all of the fluttering wings as they play.
