Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dragontown's famous Yuletide pantomime plays are a fusion of two similar draconic and human traditions, with roles played by a mixture of humans and dragons. The plots are paper-thin, the acting over-the-top, and the characters mere caricatures, but nobody goes to these plays for subtlety or nuance. They go to cheer the heroes, boo the villains, and sing along with the actors, as audience participation is a huge part of the appeal.

Trandyr plays the Spirit of Change, who shows up near the end to break curses, redeem the villain, or just reward everyone for a job well done. Depending on the play, she can be a fairy godmother (complete with sparkly wand), a guardian of nature, or even an autumn dragon (to the bewilderment anyone not familiar with draconic folklore). As the plays become more broadly comedic, Trandyr's role has become, like Lead Companion, more of a vehicle for casting special effects spells, but she doesn't mind, being more inclined to construct scenery than to chew it.
