Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Often mistaken for a cow... for some reason... Though maybe it's because she has the intelligence and demeanor of a one. Purple Steak does not speak much and only grazes all day. When she tries to telepathically speak, she cannot and only makes muffled noises. Sadly due to this, the other dragons find her strange and generally ignore Purple Steak. Perhaps her strange behavior roots from those who 'raised' her. Her mother, Poop Head has a very bad manner of speaking to other dragons, including her daughter. Her father, Purple Mustache talks about his non-existent purple mustache constantly. Somehow, her father has gathered a following of those who also claim to have a purple mustache. With this taking up his free time, Purple Mustache was never there to care for Purple Steak. Miraculously, she has a 'mate' called No Dragons Allowed. No Dragons Allowed thinks he's a human, but that's another story for another day.
