Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rhuin Butterscotch Wafflewhip is a whiptail dragon. He is very hyperactive and energetic, mainly due to the fact that he loves to eat sweets, as suggested by his name. Often a bit too overenthusiastic and even annoying, Rhuin is often described as a 'fast bat that doesn't know where the cave walls are', which is true, since he keeps crashing into this and that. Very eager to learn every skill there is in the world, Rhuin spends his days bouncing around his clan's sheltered hollow, going this way and that as he tries to attend all of his lessons. His ultimate wish is to be the strongest and bravest dragon in his clan, but so far, the only thing he's been is a joke among the other dragons. Nevertheless, he doesn't let that bother him, even when he gets insults hurled at him from across the clearing. He doesn't care, and that's that. As a result, some dragons admire his complete ignorance and nonchalantness of the dragons that bully him. At least he's good at that.
