Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Queen of Eternal Dawn's stronghold and leader of the Armada, Kari Butamu is happiest flying through the forests surrounding the crater and its hidden treasures.  Her heart leaps for each of her kingdom's inhabitant's joys.  Even as queen, sightings of her scouting trips is not uncommon.  

She takes great pride in her duties with full recognition for her mate and full-time partner, the well-respected Ndege Asubuhi.   They named their union Miaalfajri (100's of Mornings) in honor to the stronghold which requested their leadership.  Eternal Dawn was left without reliable leadership for centuries before this love-struck couple took residence in it's beautiful Sequoia trees. Some great kingship of the past human reign had strewn ruins over the hillside.  These moved into the warmest center lands of an ancient volcanic crater to begin building an astoundingly beautiful stronghold, large enough to honor the many dragons who lived-well and shared-often with their neighbors.
