Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maya Harman is named after a witch who tried to achieve immortality. She resembles Maya in a way because they are both spiteful and cruel, and immortal. Maya, the dragon, is very self-guarded. She usually has short burst of angry moods from time to time, but that is because her inability to have children, Kiroe assumes. She once got into a scuffle with Kiroe's rogue dragon, Azarathe. Though he didn't want to hurt her, Azarathe fought out of self defense. But, Azarathe soon showed Maya her evil ways and broke through her wall of hate. Eventually Azarathe fell in love with her as she did him and they became Life Mates. Recently, Maya Harman has had a falling out with Clorsonia, after she tried to harm the Daydream dragon's pet butterfly. Their dispute ended in the triumph of Maya, but an uprising of hatred towards her.
