Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Darkspine Greyscale is the king of the dragon roost and the mate of Sailfin Monolog. His intellect and age mark him as the true leader.

He and Sailfin, with the help of the others who first joined the roost, laid down the laws that govern it, among which are the following:

1. A hatchling shall only be named once it has gained its wings, except in special circumstances.

2. This name shall contain tribute to both the mother and the father and should be in at least two parts, if possible pertaining to the hatchling's own attributes.

3. The hatchling shall receive its calling and description (given and stored by Textspeak) only once it has reached adulthood.
