Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A fan of flying only at night, Flight of the Moon is seen as little more than a fast moving shadow at night. He loves to explore the land on his own, seeking out every nook and cranny during the night then coming back by day to share stories of everything he's learned. Nothing makes his chest swell with more pride than when he sees the flash of envy in the eyes of others. For now, he may be a silly, pride-seeking hatching but the adults have hopes that when he grows, he can be a nighttime scout for his family.
