Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Raised by a human wizard Animusa has become an expert in frost magic. Animusa was raised to analyze every problem and to consider the consequences of each and every solution to the issue. Her cold and detached attitude has caused her to look down on "lesser" beings such as humanoids and the less developed dragons. The most irritating of these is Fieroun who is constantly trying to insinuate himself into her good graces. Unfortunately for Fieroun, Animusa has absolutely no interest in him and merely tolerates him because he is a powerful fighter and ensures her protection from any dangers they might encounter. At the moment Fieroun and the "Soul of Ice" have been heading to the Graxis mountain chain as they head north. Unbeknownst to Animusa is that there is a huge dragon hunt in progress in the flatlands surrounding the mountains and that these hunters are spearheaded by powerful mages.
