Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vaal had the good fortune to come from a respectable family, one of traceable record and proud bearing, wherein all members had contributed in some way to the bettering of the world around them and had their names recorded in stone accordingly. Yet--as much as she delights in this fact--she is also well aware that those without such ancestries are just as capable of being distinguished and honorable as she. There are, however, many in the world who refuse to believe this, leading to an onslaught of cruelty and condescension that has for years left those of "undistinguished breeding" far more likely to die. Horrified by this truth, Vaal swore she'd do her best to fight it--and in the process fell in love with the most mysterious winter magi who would soon become her mate.
