Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Several years ago Ollia was at the center of the clan. She used to organize and lead successful hunting parties on a daily basis, many dragons begging her to allow them to join. However the one spectacle both dragons and humans alike gathers to watch was her summoning rituals. They all reveled in the primordial chaos of ice, magma, and thunder becoming one. Week after week her rituals failed, leading to many losing hope of a legendary guardian being summoned. Even Ollia's own mate, Yuler, and all of her children abandoned her. The magma and thunder who aided her began to lose heart too, though she began to bribe them in a desperate attempt to regain her status. She was completely unseated when a trio of legendary elements arrived and summoned a GoN during their first ritual. In her shame Ollia left for the north most lands, where the snow stretches for miles, and continues to live there in solitude to curse the name of her successor, Avarain.
