Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Joben even as a hatchling was too full of himself. He was always showing off his beautiful colors in front of the other dragons. It soon caused the other dragons to avoid him and he became slightly ostracized. It was self inflicted, and the young dragon didn't even seem to noticed the separation. He was fine growing up by himself as he often had a look of being above the other dragons' measly colors. It was a big surprise one day when he willingly approached a certain fire dragon. He apparently liked the color that she was as he started a habit of strutting in front of her. At first the young female avoided him, not wanting to be impressed. Joben was found to be very determined though and he continued with the actions. Eventually he apparently won through her defenses and they became inseparable. Nowadays the two can be found, the young Swallowtail strutting and the female spitting fire at anyone who gets too close to the male dragon.
