Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fire light's egg was found in a ring of fire in the wilderness. The brilliant red egg was found by Red Lily, Picu's first dragon, who was sitting in the wilderness eating the plants around her. When Red Lily first saw the ring of fire, she was alarmed, especially when she could see the silhouette of the egg hidden in the flames. Picu was informed and went to investigate. The egg appeared unharmed and not the slightest bit burned. Once it was rescued by Picu and Sorako (Picu's second dragon), they noticed how hot it was, but not burning. The egg did appear alive still and Picu was relieved about that. Days later the egg hatched and Picu named the hatchling Fire Light after the glowing light of the flames that once surrounded the egg. Firelight is a very independent dragon, preferring to do things herself rather than allowing her mate Brave Stripe to do things for her. She has a feisty and strict personality, but is nevertheless a loving mother to her multiple children.
