Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shera was adopted as an abandoned hatchling, a fair time after Kagira grew up from a similar situation.  Rasheev had just grown, and Kalren and Song were still hatchlings.  Shera became the aggressive defender of her newfound siblings, scaring away leaves and rocks and anything else that seemed to threaten Song and Kalren while one of the adults wasn't near enough.  Due to her similar situation, Kagira became incredibly fond of Shera and the black hatchling of her and Shera would sleep curled up next to Kagira every night.  Shera is a passionate and risk-taking dragon; she revels in dangerous flight acrobatics and is a wonderful fighter.  She is also a prankster and gets along with Kalren very well most of the time, except when they get angry with each other and explode.  Shera is full of fire and loves to wrestle with dragons bigger than she is.  Rasheev sometimes humors her.
