And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Quivsen's parents guard a wizard's tower. As the wizard didn't really need a third guard, she cast a growth-halting spell on Quivsen and set him in the garden. As the garden is as magical as everything else near the tower, Quivsen is rarely bored. In addition to plants that sparkle, do their own weeding, and sometimes explode, the wizard also keeps a collection of tiny animate humanoid statues. The constant drama in their lives provides endless entertainment.
