Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Vanquisher Dorkface, following the traditions of his breed, was trained from a young age to be a mighty warrior. He easily bestested his classmates, earning all the top honors bestowed on black hatchlings for skill in battle and hunting. These honors swelled his ego, however, and he quickly became arrogant and braggish. An adult black dragon challenged him to a mock duel to deflate hie ego, and Vanquisher Dorkface was vanquished. Afraid that in the adult world his skills wouldn't be enough to make him king of the cave, Vanquisher sought out magic that could keep him young forever and now spends his time challenging unwitting hatchlings to prove that he is still worthy of his name.
