Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Li is normally sweet and soft-spoken with a heart of gold. If she is backed into a corner or if a loved one is threatened, however, she can turn ruthless and vicious, using both her teeth and her powerful magic to ward off an enemy. She can usually control herself so that she doesn't kill the other party, but on more than one occasion her father had to hold her back when she was close to delivering the final blow to a marauding wild dragon. Since then, she has learned to focus her anger at the injustice of a loved one being attacked into her magic to disable rather than kill or maim.
