Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shui Yue rises later than his brothers and sisters, when the moon is high in the sky. During his waking hours, he's most often found perched on the edge of a granite outcrop, contemplating the moonlight reflected in the rivers and streams below—this is how he earned the name 'water moon'. He returns to sleep long after the other Royal Blues of his clan, when the morning star has risen and the first rays of sun are working their way over the horizon.
