Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Homai's parents stuck to tradition and did not name him until he hatched when they could confirm his natural gender, so naming him as such. Homai-i-ka-ule-a'u means 'to pass on my manhood' in Hawaiian.

Homai grew to despise his ability, having some type of control to defy nature's will; however, he was raised to never deny any requests. When dragon parents come to him to guarantee a son, he never resists. Homai had eventually swallowed his defiance and happily did his job. He quickly learned that the world is tough and filled with hatred and chaos, he is happy to bring happiness to those who come.
