Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. This hatchling is hard to see, but in the sunlight it displays brilliant colors.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Quetzal is very curious and is eager to escape the cave during the day to explore. Thankfully, the older Sunsongs look after it to make sure it doesn't get into trouble. Because it was magically 'frozen' before it could gender, it doesn't have dominant characteristics of either a male nor a female. Quetzal loves to look for stones that give off a purple glimmer, and anything that creates a rainbow when light passes through it.
