Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Immovable" in Japanese. He was raised by Mamosuke and Emi, after Mamosuke found his egg abandoned in the desert. Fudo has taken after his father, and is one of the protectors of the colony. He's a fierce fighter, using his smaller size to his advantage. He's very nimble, and has taken down rogue dragons much larger than himself. He met his mate, Maika, when she was being harassed by an outsider. A nasty rogue dragon had decided that he was going to steal her away against her will. Fudo instantly jumped on the larger dragons back, biting and clawing with everything he had. When the other dragon turned around, he received a face full of searing hot blue flame. The rogue decided Maika wasn't worth the trouble, and fled the valley. Maika was very grateful to her hero, and asked if she could make supper for him. They began courting soon after. They're so in love, and look forward to spending eternity together.
