Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Narcissus Nightmare is one of the few Vampire Dragons to be permitted to be live on Dragon Isle. Her and her two siblings were raised by the hatchery staff from tiny hatchlings; Kelasia decided that they could stay, so long as they didn't cause any trouble.

Narcissus Nightmare is a rather self-absorbed dragon with narcissistic tendencies. She thinks very highly of herself, and often puts others beneath her. She has trouble obeying commands because of her loaded god complex, and she is rude to Dragon Isle's other residents.

However, she is a big help to the community, as she grows fruits rich in vitamins and iron. These fruits are part of her diet; she can't drink dragon blood, much to her displeasure. She tolerates fresh blood from small prey animals, but tends to go on and on about how she's not being "properly fed." It is rumored that she kills other dragons off of the isle, but no one knows for certain. She is very sneaky and mysterious, and nobody bothers to associate with her.
