Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Outlaw Of The Darkness is a vicious male vampire dragon. He is shunned by the other dragons and has no mate or friends. He's constantly attacking other dragons because he feels lonely and forgotten. Knight Of The Daylight protects the other dragons from him. She and Outlaw are enemies, yet they have a certain bond. They know each other better than anyone else does.

Outlaw likes to fly around a mountain range known as 'The Dragon's Teeth' when he's in a good mood. Outlaw loves the night but hates the daytime. During the day he hides in a large cave littered with the bones of other dragons.

Outlaw was once a stone egg, but he was attacked by a vampire dragon. Outlaw became a vampire egg, but was abandoned. Outlaw was claimed, and he came to be with a new flight of dragons. He was always outcast because he was a vampire. On the night of his maturation Outlaw bit an egg and fled. Yet Outlaw always tries to attack the dragons at night, for he is the darkness that will never be forgotten.
