Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

DiDem followed Love, another Royal Blue, to the clan. Both were lost as eggs and had to fight their way through terrible dangers until they found a safe haven with Herk's clan. DiDem is a far better physical fighter than her older sister and did a lot of the scaring off predators and hunting for food. The danger of their situation seemed to bring buried instincts out to the surface that most of her kind don't even possess. But now that she lives in a safe and friendly environment DiDem has happily forgotten and buried all those instincts to live a quiet, happy, and constructive life among her brethren.
