Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Mercurial Hunter first joined the brood, he didn't intentionally become the clan's top hunter or the leader of the clan's hunting group, the Deadly Five. He became the leader because he is level-headed, strategic, and honorable. Mercurial is a dragon that respects those who respect themselves and has little patience for anyone who isn't true to himself. That sort of dragon, Mercurial would ignore entirely. Once his respect is gained, however, he will forever be loyal and patient with that dragon. Seeing himself as both the clan's hunter and protector, Mercurial looks up to Azure Lazurite and will often seek the other's advice on anything and everything, even if Azure's advice isn't the best.

Since Mercurial is the leader of the Deadly Five, his closest friends are his hunting mates: Lizzie and Pattie, Kultainen Siivet, Dionaea Rubiini, and Levites Esaias. However, there are others such as Pele Honua and Elathan Fomor that he would like to have join his hunting team.
