Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The Moon Watcher belonged to a strange clan of Nocturne dragons that did not freeze in daylight. Instead of freezing they merely lost their brilliant colors and became a dull brown-gray. They couldn't recognize daylight from moonlight either, as they saw the sun and the moon together. They say the light rays in strange patterns in the sky. The clan kept mostly to themselves and began to become color blind to every thing but themselves. They learned night and day as the time of beauty and the time of being earthly. At night they shone with colorful beauty (The Moon Watcher was a brilliant navy blue, like the night sky most see) and at day they dulled to resemble rocks.

The Moon Watcher was given her name when she first hatched. She traveled away from the clutch and to the cave mouth to stare at the moon and sun. Thus she was named. As she aged, she chose to leave her clan and its superstitions. Each hunt took her farther and farther away from the old cave until she was finally free.
