Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Templing, (or Ling, as he prefers to be called,) is a strange little hatchling. He was born from Tempest, the leader of the scroll, and his sire is a mighty gold dragon who leads the males. Ling's mother is a very sly and malignant dragon, who seeks nothing but power. Ling himself, though, is very diffrent from her. Although he has inherited her appearance as a Storm dragon, even down to the strange darker patches on his scales that look like stormclouds, Ling's temper is nothing like his mother's. Ling is of a quiet sort, who looks after himself and keeps to himself. He isn't very friendly to the other hatchlings, but not out of meanness. He simply doesn't have much to say.

However, an unlikely friendship has sprung up between him and another dragon of the scroll. Nerissa, the sorrowful water dragon who wants to see the world someday, is visited by Ling very often. Nerissa spins wonderful tales of adventure to Ling, who drinks them in eagerly.
