Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The CandyCane King, once known as Candycane Kid, is a proud, warrior-like beast. He smells of mint candy and his wings have the soft touch of mint leaves, and he walks with the deer in the forest, as he looks like a proud, winged, and oddly-colored buck to wild deer. He is peaceful and rarely speaks except to give his wisdom. As a kid, he played in the snow gleefully, happily following along with the wild herds of Christmas dragons that would pass by every so often, and more than once he had to be kept back from traveling with the wild ones of his breed. He and the canopy dragon, Canopaya, are good friends, as they both are very mystical, wise breeds and have several children.
