Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aurix is a proud dragon that can appear arrogant to those that don't know him, but he's nice and love talking to other dragons. But sadly his pride sometimes gets the better of him making him look stubborn and arrogant in the eyes of others. When in an argument he often needs a lot of reasoning before swallowing his pride and admit he was wrong. Despite all that his mate Pinaya Skullcrusher still loves him, he always brings her any carcasses he find fresh or old since he knows she loves nothing more than devour the marrow in the bones. None of the other dragons in the cave knows how it was possible for a proud gold dragon like Aurix to pair up with a vicious scavenger like Pinaya and none of them dare ask him why he chose her.
