Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kamau, the son of Aara and Adomas, is quite proud of his rank as the first dragon to have been the result of a breeding between clan members. He has inherited his father's tendency towards silence, and tends to be more of a listener in the conversations he participates in. He is not as much of a loner as his father, however, and he loves to be on the outskirts of a group, part of it and yet not.

Kamau is a bit more aggressive than the average frilled dragon, and as a hatchling his tendency to snap at the others worried his parents. With age came wisdom, however. Although he still has a slight temper, he knows that he is smaller than almost any dragon other than a mint. He won't attack unless he feels that he has no other choice. Then, however, he will use any method possible in order to win.
