Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
Known for her sweet, flattering voice and persistant need to see the best in everyone, Yvaina is seen as almost the perfect example of a young hen dragon.
Almost.
For there is one part of Yvaina which she cannot forsake. A secret part of her world no one sees. For behind the everlasting optimism and honey tipped tongue is a highly insecure female who has been through much. When she was little, she, being the only of her clutch hatched, was discovered and taken by a rogue male. He intended on raising her to be his forced mate, breaking her legs but still ensuring to keep her fed. While he was hunting, she escaped in a bid of desperation, not to thinking of anything but getting away.
It was Zalexia who found her. Barely alive and fairly traumatized. She was healed by Skyler. Becca, Rosiline, and Jax took her in after this point, bonding with her and watching out for the young female. She was whole again by the time the rest of her clutch hatched and and no one was the wiser.
