Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This male is one of a small flock of Greenwings living within a most unusual forest. Bioluminescent fungi run rampant there, and the creatures that dine on them gain some of their glow. Greenwings, hungry and carnivorous as they are, then concentrate the glow of their prey in their bodies, resulting in them giving off a strong glow of their own. While Giest and his kin find the glow beautiful, they're also well aware that it makes them more noticeable to predators, and as such they're a shy and difficult to find bunch.
