Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silverlight's full name, A Glint of Silver Light, refers to the time when, as a very young hatchling, he played with a ball of daylight and spent the rest of the day in a corner because he was so bright, he hurt the other dragons' eyes. He is in love with Dorkface Thuwed Kiara, and they have had two children together. His best friend is My Precioussss; they spend hours each day just flying together, enjoying each others' company. Silverlight is the envy of all the other dragons since he doesn't need to exert any energy when flying-he simply uses magic. However, he feels sad because of this, and would much prefer to have wings. He is very friendly and would like it if the others didn't envy him. Silverlight's favorite food is roasted mouse on a stick. Despite Kiara's exasperation, urging him to eat only plants, he cannot seem to bring himself to stay away from his roasted mice. Since he cannot wield the power of fire, he has to ask Princess of Eggs to make his Rodent Delight.
