Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sylveus is a smooth-tongued debater, a striped dragon of unusual oratory skill. He uses this ability mostly to solve problems, keeping himself and others to a high ethical standard. He spends most of his time outside, resting on large, warm rocks on sunny days and hiding just behind the entrance to the cave when the weather turns foul. He considers and discusses dozens of issues and grievances, both important and trivial, from these places.

Sylveus takes a certain degree of pleasure in turning another dragon to his point of view. Considering his skill at doing so, it would be easy for him to seek personal advancement, but he does not desire any authority. He is content to live out a more relaxed life, occasionally prompting some minor change, but never seeking to gain power for himself. His support is often sought by others with less altruistic motives, but he only very rarely aids them.

Sylveus is married to Taeraean, an intelligent red striped dragon of kindly disposition.
